mostly these days, i just use passive tracking. the main tools are probably: rescuetime to track device usage, gyrosco.pe for location tracking (and bringing lots of other services together), last.fm for music and trakt.tv for tv/movies. for sleep, i use the apple watch but there are heaps of good apps.
i also love exist.io which has some tracking itself, but is also fantastic for consolidating your other services and looking at trends etc. apple health is great for bringing all that sort of data together.
